Our Insport journey started when, after covid, the small club section that used Bryn Pydew Village Hall became more inclusive almost by accident really.
When we started entering the UK Disability Championships and doing very well, we formed a committee and from there formed Conwy Disabled Archery.
As a club for the disabled it was decided we had to become more engaged with Disability organisations and this was proved to us when Nick Kershaw and Ian Thomas were asked by ArcheryGB to be interviewed on camera to help produce a video for the Activity Alliance.
This made our mind up to take up the Disability Sport Wales Insport.
We started off with the Insport Ribbon Award, with help from Mark Richards, from Sport Conwy, this proved really easy to do.
We progressed to Bronze Award and alongside this all our committee members undertook the free UK Disability Inclusion Training Level 1
Two of our members have taken DSW Inclusive Marketing workshop and UK Disability Inclusion Training Level 2.
Our next target is Silver Award. This has prompted us to update some of our policies and Role Description.
All our policies are available in the club to read and are available online.
Please take the time to read them.
